Michael Lumb

I studied fine art at Manchester Polytechnic from 1987 to 1991. Following this I had careers as an art teacher and as a draughtsman. During this time I always maintained my passion for painting. My paintings are inspired mainly by the landscape of the North Pennines, Yorkshire, Cumbria and County Durham. I never tire of attempting to capture the character and mood of these places which are subject to rapid changes in light and atmosphere.
